7/9/2010 - Father McGivney Catholic High School Principal Resigns

Glen Carbon, IL – Mike Scholz, the recent hire as principal of Father McGivney Catholic High School, has resigned.  Scholz was to start this month but has resigned due to personal reasons.

Doug Villhard, president of the school’s board, was saddened by the news.  “Certainly we put a lot of effort into making this hire and this news is unfortunate.  But, one person does not make or break a project like ours.  We will make a decision in the next few months regarding this hire and others.  We wish Mr. Scholz the best,” Villhard said.

Father McGivney Catholic High School is slated to open next fall in 2011.  Scholz was to lead the recruitment efforts this fall.  At the moment those efforts will revert back on the board according to Villhard.  “Sometimes in life and in this project God makes it a little more challenging than we’d like.  But He knows best and we’ll just have to wait and see what He has in store for us on this hire and others,” Villhard said.
